2025 DL Jarquez Carter Talks Notre Dame Offer
Notre Dame has already landed one defensive lineman in the Class of 2025 and now the Irish are after another.
On Tuesday, they extended an offer to 2025 Florida defensive lineman Jarquez Carter.
“The coach hit my coach up and then they put us on three-way and he told us,” the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “I was very happy and excited for that offer.”
“I got a homeboy who committed there, Davion. Just to get the same offer he got and the experience he told me about the school.”
Carter and 2025 Irish defensive line commit Davion Dixon are close and have attended several camps together.
“He said it's a good environment and more than just football, academics,” Carter said of Dixon. “When he was walking around the campus, he said it just he felt like home there.”
Carter learned of the offer from Irish defensive line coach Al Washington.
“I liked him a lot,” the Newberry High School standout said. “He was telling me everything; the truth and all about what he liked about me and he was being 100 with me.”
Carter, who also has visits from schools like Penn State, USF, UCF, UConn, Temple and Western Kentucky among others, has already taken a handful of visits.
“I've been to Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and UCF,” he said. “I'd like to visit Alabama and Georgia because they're Alabama and Georgia; just to go visit the schools.”
Now that he has the offer, he’d also like to get to South Bend.
“I'll try to hit it up probably sometime next month or the month after that,” he said. “I really want to see the campus and see the relationships with the coaches.”
That will be huge when it comes to Carter’s final decision.
“Mostly the coaching,” he said of the biggest factors in his choice.
“Can I develop at the school, which school will help me develop most.”
