Notre Dame Lands Grad Transfer RB Devyn Ford
Notre Dame has added another piece to the roster as Penn State grad transfer Devyn Ford has announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder ran for 37 yards on seven carries in 2022 after a season of 61 yards in 2021. Ford was productive his first two seasons in Happy Valley as he carried the rock 119 times for 568 yards and six scores.
In all, Ford ran 140 times for 666 yards (4.8 ypc) and six touchdowns while adding 20 receptions for 103 yards during his four-year career at Penn State.
As a recruit out of North Stafford High School (Va.), Ford was the No. 79 player in the country and chose Penn State over Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.
Ford adds depth to the Notre Dame running back room as he’ll join Audric Estime, Gi’Bran Payne, JD Price and incoming freshman Jeremiyah Love. The Irish lost running back Logan Diggs, who ran for 820 yards and four touchdowns in 2022, and Ford will provide more depth, but also experience as only Estime has taken game snaps.
