Notre Dame Future Football Schedules Released

March 2, 2017
16,223

Mark your calendars as Notre Dame released kickoff times for the 2017 home slate on Thursday afternoon, but that wasn’t all. Notre Dame also released its full schedules for the 2018 and 2019 season. There are a few surprises on there, which bode well for college football fans across the board.

Starting with 2017, Notre Dame will host SEC power Georgia (9/9), and Pac-12 rival USC (10/21) and both will be 7:30 p.m. ET kickoffs. The other unusual start time would be on September 30th against Miami (OH) as kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The game will be between a NASCAR event and the Presidents Cup.

The Irish are without a Shamrock Series game in 2017 with the Campus Crossroads project being completed, but they will play road games at Boston College, Michigan State, North Carolina, Miami, and Stanford. 11 of Notre Dame’s 2017 opponents played in Bowl last year, and three finished in the final AP poll in 2016.

In 2018, the Irish will start the season hosting Michigan on September 1st as the Midwest rivalry starts back up. On September 15th, the SEC will return to South Bend with Vanderbilt making the trip north. The Irish will travel to Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, and USC in 2018. The Wolverines, Stanford and Florida State highlight the home schedule.

Notre Dame will start 2019 on the road with a game on September 2nd at Louisville. New Mexico travels to South Bend on September 14th, and Bowling Green will also come to Notre Dame. In addition to Louisville, Notre Dame will travel to Georgia, Michigan, Duke and Stanford in 2019.

2019

In the release, Notre Dame also says one home game in 2018 or 2019 could be relocated to an off-campus site for the Shamrock Series.

I said it in another thread but this is awful awful awful scheduling for 18 and 19. I'm struggling to find 8 wins in either year.

Baloney. Against the 18 slate we should win 10.

You see us going 2-2 against UM, USC, Stanford, and FSU, then winning out against the rest of the schedule?

I strongly doubt that happens. I say 9-3 is the absolute best case scenario with 6-6 to 8-4 being most likely.

That 2018 schedule looks rough! Stanford, at vtech, Pitt 3 game stretch is deceptively difficult. Then Michigan to start the year and Florida state and USC go finish. Yikes!

2019 looks doable. Some trap games but we don't have two really tough games in a row except Michigan and USC but there is a Bye week in between but we could be playing 4 top 10 teams that year. That's tough.

Each year there are only 4 teams that match or exceed Notre Danes talent on roster. Every other game shouldn't be life or death of tre new staff lives up to their billing.

19 is insane because it's a bad setup several tougher games back to back which doesn't help.

Otherwise in 18 they should win 9- 10 or Kelly should be fired. You should be able to split Georgia, UM, Stanford , USC at minimum.

I love the 2018 schedule, teams and they way it's laid out.

Georgia, UL, UVA, Michigan, USC, Stanford and Va Tech. Genius scheduling Jack, even a very good football team going 9-3 against that schedule.

I like getting Vandy in '18, I think that's a nice addition.

Finding a way to reliably deal with Stanford would go a long way in keeping us in good records. They're the least scary top 10/20 team, to me, on our schedule. Teams with freaky athletes, like USC and FSU, give me far worse nightmares.

If Kelly is not gone before '19, he will be at the end of
'19.

M.Frank is nuts if he thinks the '19 schedule is manageable. With L'ull, Georgia, um and Stanford on the road...this not manageable, that is suicide. Especially with USC and VTech (Fuentes is a great coach) at home,
which any more is as tough as being on the road.

Yeah man, I ain't gonna lie, these schedules scare me a bit.

I'm generally of the opinion that ND has a good, honest shot at beating any team in the country most weeks, but more of these have the look of 50/50 ballgames than I'd like to admit.
