2026 CB AJ Marks Proud Of Invasion Performance At Notre Dame

June 8, 2023

AJ Marks‍ has some big-time offers already, but the 2026 Michigan cornerback isn’t looking for the biggest offer, he’s looking for the best fit.

And Marks believes there’s a chance Notre Dame could prove to be that fit in the end, which is why he was back in South Bend on Sunday for Irish Invasion.

“Everything went good,” the St. Mary’s standout told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I had a great camp. I didn't lose any rep in one-on-ones. I looked fluid in my drills, good hips, everything. I think I had a great camp and showed Coach (Mike) Mickens and everybody what I can do.”

Marks enjoyed the opportunity to be coached by Mickens.

“It was great,” he said. “He was coaching everybody up, even if they were messing up, making sure everybody was getting good quality reps. I just wanted to put on a show for him.”

The Irish cornerbacks coach wants Marks to keep him updated and for the two to continue building a relationship.

“Keep coming back and just stay on the path with them,” said Marks, who will be sending Mickens video from camps, workouts and practices so he can be further evaluated.

The 5-foot-9, 150-pounder has over a dozen offers from schools like Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, West Virginia and Louisville among several others. Still, the Irish have his full attention.

“I really like Notre Dame,” said Marks. “I just love the atmosphere. I like the campus atmosphere, the game atmosphere after watching videos and stuff. I like the practices they have. I just really like Notre Dame.”

He’s planning to be back for a game in the fall, probably the USC game.

In the meantime, he’ll stay busy with camps this summer.

“I'm going to Florida, Georgia and then I have the Elite 11 Opening Camp, Nike Opening and also the Rivals Next Five-Star Camp,” he said.

He knows what he is looking for – and is not looking for – in a college.

“Just whatever fits me perfectly. It doesn't have to be a huge name school. Even if it's just a smaller school, it has to be a school that fits me and I know that I'm going be able to grow because I know that it's going to be a lifelong decision. I know wherever I go has to be a good choice for me.”
