2025 LB Marcus James Talks Notre Dame Experience

Marcus James‍ has been steadily making a name for himself and racking up scholarship offers the past several weeks.

The 2025 Oklahoma linebacker’s busy camp schedule took him to South Bend for Notre Dame’s Evaluation Camp last Thursday.

“It was pretty good,” the Carl Albert High School standout said.

“I feel like I went down there, learned some things, came out knowing some more things that I didn't come in knowing. I feel like I had a successful camp.”

James explained some of what he took away from the camp.

“I learned some more pass rush techniques, the majority was that,” he said. “I got better at my hip movement and covering man-to-man in one-on-ones.”

Since May, the 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has earned offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, TCU, Arkansas, Kansas, SMU, UTEP, Liberty, North Texas, UTSA and Texas State.

James was impressed with the Irish coaches.

“They were cool,” he said. “I feel like they really genuinely liked me as a person and a recruit. You could tell that they actually care about their players and that they know what they're doing down there.”

James will be back at Oklahoma for another visit this weekend, but isn’t sure what his travel schedule will look like after that.

“That might be it for this month,” he said.

He also isn’t entirely sure what’s next for him and the Irish.

“I'm not sure when, but I might come back for a visit.”
