2026 CB Elbert Hill Excited By Notre Dame Offer
Notre Dame doesn’t typically offer prospects still in – or just out of – their freshman years of high school.
But after watching Elbert Hill IV at their recent Evaluation Camp, the Irish decided to offer the 2026 Ohio cornerback.
“I talked to the head coach, Coach (Marcus) Freeman,” Hill said of how he learned of the offer.
“He told me that he liked how I played defense, how I covered, and just to keep grinding. He liked everything about me.”
The Archbishop Hoban High School star also has early offers from schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Miami among others. The offer from the Irish had Hill pumped.
“I was excited,” the 5-foot-10, 160-pounder said.
“I was the first 2026 DB to get an offer from Notre Dame.”
Hill’s interest in Notre Dame goes beyond just being the first defensive back in his class to receive an offer, though.
“I like their culture,” he said. “Everything's real good about them, and it's a great academic school.”
Hill shined during the camp, especially with individual drills, getting in and out of his breaks and his pass coverage.
He’s looking forward to keeping in contact with the staff and trying to return for another visit.
“Trying to build relationships and get up there to watch a game,” he said of what’s next for him and Notre Dame.
He doesn’t have a date locked in to return, but does have his eye on one.
“I would love to see them go against Ohio State,” he said.
Hill also expects to make gameday visits at schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Pitt and others.
He has an early idea of what he’s looking for in a college.
“Who can develop me, who can show me how to be a better player, a great character.”
