2024 Notre Dame LB Commit Bodie Kahoun Eyes South Bend Return
The recruiting process may be over for Bodie Kahoun, but he still wants to learn as much as possible about his future home and the people he’ll be sharing it with, which is why the 2024 Virginia linebacker is hoping to be back at Notre Dame for the Irish’s BBQ on July 30th.
“My family and I are in the midst of trying to get some tickets and we are trying to,” he says. “That's the goal.”
Kahoun says several members of the Irish’s 2024 recruiting class are also trying to make it back to campus at the end of the month and the main purpose of the trip for him is building bonds with his future teammates.
“Really just getting time with all the guys and hanging out and learning more about each other,” he says. “I'm committed and everything, but you can always learn more about the people you're about to spend the rest of your life with, so really just getting ready for that.
“They're your teammates and they're going to be your brothers. They'll have your back and you've got to have theirs. I feel like the faster you get the chemistry down, the more winning you'll have in the future.”
Kahoun calls the past couple months since committing to the Irish “great.”
“I've just been having a lot of relaxed time and spending a lot of time talking to the Notre Dame coaches and learning more about them,” he says. “It's a little bit more pressure off of you and it's kind of fun just to say you're committed.”
The message from the Irish coaches has been a consistent one.
“It's really just, 'We're putting a lot on you, but it's all going to be good in the end. You chose hard and it's going to be hard, but at the end it's all going to be worth it.'”
