Since receiving an offer from the Irish back in April, Sharlandiin Strange‍ has been looking forward to visiting Notre Dame.

The 2025 Pennsylvania defensive end may get that chance later this month for the Irish’s Grill & Chill event.

“I’m still checking to see if I can make it,” the Cheltenham High School star told ISD.

“I just need a ride up there and then I'll be cool, just need some sort of transportation and I'll be there.”

Strange also has offers from schools like Penn State, Maryland, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Texas A&M and USC among several others.

The Irish have had the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder’s attention ever since the offer.

“It is one of a kind,” Strange said of Notre Dame. “I've never been up there, never been in the area. It would benefit great.

“I ain't going to lie, I'm just trying to see like the facility, get used to stuff that I would want to see if I commit there or go there; the recovery programs for the athletes, a lot of stuff. I'm so eager to get up there.”

Direct communication between college coaches and 2025 prospects is limited right now, but the Irish have managed to get their messages across.

“Usually if they can't talk to me, they talk to my coach, send me messages through them,” he explained.

“Coming up to visit was one, they wanted me to come up there and 'just keep grinding and keep working out because you're looking good throughout the summer.'”

Strange is honored to hear the Irish like what they’ve seen from him so far.

“It means a lot because me growing up and watching Notre Dame and now they're recruiting me, it makes me realize it's really real,” he said. “It's not fake.”

Last month, Strange made stops at West Virginia and Penn State.

“They were good,” he said. “They were nice.”

In addition to South Bend, Strange is hoping to get to South Carolina later this month.

He has a few schools in mind for fall visits as well.

“Penn State, Notre Dame and Colorado, that's really it for games,” he said. "

Strange has a good idea of what he’s looking for from a college program.

“I would say it's just the love. If you give more love or be more real and tell me like the reality instead of just trying to sell me fake dreams, then that would most definitely be a school to commit to. The school that's being real...and just being straightforward with me is the school I would like to go to.”
