On Sunday, 2024 Notre Dame defensive line commit Sean Sevillano Jr.‍ made his third trip to campus since the spring.

The 6-foot-2, 315-pounder committed days before his official visit to Notre Dame, but this time Sevillano was able to truly relax and simply have fun.

“It was awesome,” Sevillano told ISD. “I love it here. It was a blast being around the guys again and getting to know some of the 2025 guys that we hope to have here. It was overall a great time.

“It was a blast playing home run derby. We played Irish ball and some dodgeball. Overall, the competition and camaraderie was great.”

It also comes as no surprise that with each visit to Notre Dame, Sevillano is becoming more and more comfortable with his future school.

“The guys here are family from the coaches to the recruiting staff,” explained Sevillano. “Everyone here has made me feel at home and like family. This is the place I want to be and I’m happy to be here.”

Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington made sure to spend plenty of time with Sevillano and it only strengthened the relationship between the two.

“I was with him all day,” said Sevillano. “We were hanging out with Chad (Bowden) and chopping it up. Recruiting is over, so just being able to build on our relationship was good.”

The trip also allowed Sevillano to continue to build bonds with his future teammates as several other 2024 commits were in town for the Grill & Chill event.

“It was awesome,” Sevillano said. “On my official visit, we had a good time getting to know each other. I was able to hang out with some of the guys like CJ (Carr), Cam (Williams), Styles (Prescod) and Taebron (Bennie-Powell). It’s a bunch of good guys and a class to be excited about.”

Sevillano and 2025 Notre Dame commit Davion Dixon‍ are both from Florida and were in the ear of 2025 defensive lineman Jarquez Carter‍, who made his first trip.

“We talked to him a little bit,” Sevillano stated. “I got to know Davion pretty well and hang out with him. We have a matchup this year in week five that is going to be a good one. We got to chop it up a bit.”

And while Sevillano won’t be playing center this year, the Clearwater International Academy star made sure to let Dixon know how the game would go if he was on the offensive side of the ball.

“I’ll just be strictly defensive line this year,” stated Sevillano. “God-willing my teammates stay healthy, but I made sure Davion knew if I played center that I would pancake him.”

As for his next visit to South Bend, Sevillano expects to be in back in September.

“I’m not sure for sure yet, but I plan to be up for Ohio State and maybe another game,” said Sevillano. “I’m working that stuff out right now.”
