Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington spoke following Tuesday’s practice. 

On if the defensive line can go deeper than eight: 
”I think we have a lot of guys that as a coach you feel confident they can execute and perform. The guys you mentioned, (Brenan) Vernon and (Tyson) Ford, they’ve really taken to the off-season. They changed their bodies. Vernon coming in as a very talented prospect and has a workmanlike mentality.
