BREAKING | 2025 OF/C Taitn Gray Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame has landed another big piece to its 2025 recruiting class as Dallas Center-Grimes (Iowa) outfielder/catcher Taitn Gray has committed to the Fighting Irish.
“Notre Dame has pretty much been my dream school since pretty much even before the recruiting process started,” Gray told Irish Sports Daily.“The campus is super nice and I like the atmosphere and how everything feels like family there...The level of baseball there is just awesome.”
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder brings a much-needed presence from both sides of the plate as Notre Dame continues to retool the lineup from the left side of the plate. Gray also brings long ball power as he’s recorded an exit velo of 100.9 and hit six home runs while batting .322 as a sophomore.
Irish assistant Logan Robbins played an instrumental role in landing Gray.
“He’s very fired up and personable, which is something I really like in a coach,” said Gray.
Gray also recorded just four errors in 30 games for Dallas Center-Grimes in 2023.
“Wherever I can get on the field,” he said. “I plan to play as early as possible, whether that’s infield, outfield, catcher, I can play anywhere. I just want to get on the field as soon as I can.”
Gray said he’s looking forward to getting to know his future teammates.
“I was talking with some of the 2024 guys before I made the decision,” he said. “I really like them and I feel like I’ll fit in perfectly with them.
“I feel like Notre Dame recruits mature kids who want to get better.”
