WR Commit Logan Saldate Gets First Look At Notre Dame

Logan Saldate‍ obviously felt good about Notre Dame, which is why the 2024 California wide receiver committed to the Irish back in July without even having the chance to visit South Bend.

Saldate got the chance to visit South Bend last weekend and now, he feels even better about Notre Dame.

“Amazing,” he told Irish Sports Daily. “I love it.

“The main thing was probably meeting the coaches.”

Receivers coach Chansi Stuckey, especially stood out.

“Coach Stuckey is definitely my style,” the Palma High School star said. “Everything that I've been taught my whole life is what he teaches, so I'm super hyped up for that.

“It's just really going to come down to discipline. Discipline wins games and that's how coaches are really.”

Saldate called the coaches and people he met “amazing.”

“Super welcoming,” he continued. “I even got to meet some of the 2024 commits like Cam Williams and Karson Hobbs and them. They were, again, welcoming and made my family feel super happy about the decision we made.”

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder was also impressed with campus itself.

“I was looking up pictures and stuff beforehand, I was like, 'Wow, this is going to be nice,’” he said. “But it's so much more once you're there in person. The Golden Dome, the Basilica, Touchdown Jesus and all that stuff was just amazing.”

With Tennessee State in town, Saldate didn’t imagine the atmosphere being as electric as it was and he and Hobbs took a few moments to try processing the fact that they’d be down on the field a year from now.

It was tough for Saldate to flip from a previous commitment to Oregon State back in July, but at the time, he thought Notre Dame was too great of an opportunity to pass up.

Now, he knows it was.

“It's definitely the best decision I could have made, no doubt. There's no second guessing or anything. It's meant to be.”
