2025 WR Devaughn Slaughter Enjoys Notre Dame Return
Devaughn Slaughter made it up to South Bend for Notre Dame’s 41-17 win over Central Michigan on Saturday and the 2025 Indianapolis receiver was impressed.
“It was pretty good,’ the 6-foot, 160-pounder told Irish Sports Daily. “I loved it up there.
“I loved the atmosphere, seeing the coaches after the game, talking to the recruiting guys. The way they talked to us made us seem like we was the future of the program.”
The Cathedral High School standout has early offers from Miami-Ohio and Bowling Green.
“I got to talk to Coach Dre Brown, one of the recruiting coordinators,” he continued. “Also, we were in the locker room with the players after the game and got to hear Coach (Marcus) Freeman speak to his players after the game.”
The conversations with Brown were encouraging.
“It was like, 'Just keep building film, keep using your speed, create your highlights and keep your grades up,’” Slaughter recalled. “That's pretty much it.”
Slaughter enjoyed seeing the Irish in person.
“It was a pretty good game,” he said. “I love how the receivers perform today. Their whole offense stepped up in a big way, especially their running back.”
The atmosphere in the stadium especially made an impression.
“It was crazy,” he said. “It was something different. It's probably the best one I've seen.”
Slaughter plans on keeping in touch with the Irish and returning to South Bend.
“I think I'm going to go back there before the end of the year,” he said. “Hopefully I can get an offer within the next couple of weeks from them and I'll definitely be back.
“Coach Brown, he's been throwing it around a little bit. He's been watching me and he told me to send them my updated film and all that.”
