BREAKING | 2025 RB Daniel Anderson Commits To Notre Dame

September 23, 2023

When Daniel Anderson‍ received his scholarship from Notre Dame, it was a shock to almost everybody.

When he the 2025 Arkansas running back announced he was accepting that scholarship a few months later, it was a surprise to few.

Anderson just announced his commitment to the Irish, giving them four commits in the Class of 2025, joining fellow running back Justin Thurman‍, quarterback Deuce Knight‍ and defensive tackle Davion Dixon‍.

All four prospects are in South Bend this weekend for Notre Dame’s game against Ohio State along with more than a dozen 2024 commits and several uncommitted targets.

Anderson earned his offer while competing at Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion Camp back in June. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder blew the staff away with his speed and burst. Notre Dame wasn’t concerned that his only other offer at the time was from Long Island.

Schools like Mississippi State and Tennessee would follow Notre Dame’s lead, but by the time Anderson returned to South Bend for the Irish’s Grill & Chill event in July, it was clear Notre Dame was the team to beat.

Anderson made it official this weekend.

Running backs coach Deland McCullough made a big impact with his personality and plan for his players.

“I think it's actually really good the way he has it structured and set up because he has it where everybody gets to play,” he said. “Everybody has a different position and a role they get to fill with him.

“My family really enjoys him. They all say he has a great vibe and energy. They say they really like his style and the way he would coach.”

And overall, the staff, led by McCullough, Marcus Freeman, Chad Bowden and Dre Brown were crucial factors.

“The love that all the coaches bring to you makes you really feel at home with everything that they do.”

South Bend won’t just feel like home for much longer…it’ll be home for Anderson.
