2025 ATH Dallas Golden Impressed With Second Notre Dame Trip
Dallas Golden had been looking forward to this past weekend’s trip to Notre Dame for a while and it did not disappoint.
“Everything went well,” the 2025 Florida athlete told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
“We met in the indoor facility and I chopped up with Chad Bowden for a little bit. Then after that, we ate. We went through the team walk. The fans were crazy. They were showing me so much love. I even signed an autograph for a little kid.”
Golden, who was offered by the Irish in the summer of 2022, could play a number of positions at the next level, but the Irish seem to like him at corner.
While on campus, he spoke with head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Al Golden and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens.
“They were just telling me how they were excited for me to get up there and just excited for the game,” Golden said. “They're all great people and they treat me very well.
“It feels like everything is organic. Nothing feels forced, just having conversations with them.”
The game was one of the highlights of the trip.
“The game was amazing,” he said. “It was a next level atmosphere. That was my first actual Notre Dame game. It was crazy, from the fans to the coaches, everything.”
He was impressed with the Irish’s performance during their 48-20 win over USC.
“The defense played great and the secondary was very physical and aggressive,” he said. “They used their momentum to its finest.”
Golden paid especially close attention to how Mickens’ corners played.
“The corners are very aggressive, very physical,” he said. “I definitely could fit in an aggressive scheme.”
Golden visited for the spring game back in April, but was again struck by the campus in South Bend.
“The campus is nice, really nice campus,” he said. “It catches your eye. It really catches your eye when you first get on campus and see all the buildings.”
Golden’s offer sheet includes schools like Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee and Texas A&M among several others.
It’s still relatively early in the process for Golden, who hasn’t taken too many visits and doesn’t have any others locked in just yet.
“Just trying to find out what's best for me,” he said, adding there’s a good chance he’ll be back in South Bend.
“I definitely like Notre Dame.”
