Top 2025 CB Cree Thomas Enjoys Return To Notre Dame
After making his first visit to Notre Dame back in April, Cree Thomas returned to South Bend for his first Irish game this past weekend.
The 2025 Arizona cornerback was not disappointed.
“It went awesome,” Thomas told Irish Sports Daily. “It was definitely an incredible experience.
“The energy; it was electric in there. Just seeing how passionate the fans are. It was really amazing to get to witness it in person and not on TV.”
Thomas was impressed with the Irish’s performance in their 48-20 dismantling of USC.
“Obviously, they played amazing,” Thomas said. “They beat a top-ranked USC team, so that's always good. It's great to see that they can dominate those big games.
“Three interceptions in the first half, that was huge. That was definitely a big statement and it says a lot about their preparation as a team and seeing Ben (Morrison) get that interception was also really cool.”
Thomas plays for the same Brophy Prep program that Morrison played for prior to Notre Dame. The two had the chance to catch up after the game.
‘It's just cool to see someone that I know personally doing what he's doing on the biggest stage of football,” Thomas said of Morrison. “It does mean a lot that he's playing as well as he is out there.
“After the game, we were just excited. We were talking about how he played a good game, his interception, just stuff like that.”
Thomas also had the chance to connect with some of the current Notre Dame commits.
“I got to spend a good amount of time with the commits,” he said. “I spent a lot of time talking to Deuce Knight.
“Deuce was trying to just tell me about the program, why he committed. He was trying to tell me why he thinks it's a great fit for me. He was basically saying that we could start something special down in South Bend.”
Knight choosing the Irish certainly caught Thomas’ attention.
“Just seeing that Notre Dame was able to pull him from Mississippi right out of SEC Country, so obviously he sees something amazing in the program,” said Thomas. “That's definitely something to take into consideration.”
Thomas said he “definitely” wants to return to Notre Dame, but has not locked in any date just yet.
Regardless, the Irish are clearly top contenders.
“It was amazing,” he said. “It was a great visit. They're definitely pretty high on my list.
“Like I said, I loved it. It was really cool just to see the energy and atmosphere down in South Bend.”
