2025 WR Koby Howard Gets Back To Notre Dame
After a dominating performance at Irish Invasion, which led to a scholarship offer, Koby Howard made his return to South Bend this past weekend.
“Everything went great,” the 2025 Florida receiver said. “Getting back up there for the first time after a year and some change, it was a really great experience getting to chopping back up with Coach (Chansi) Stuckey, Coach (Marcus) Freeman and Coach Dre Brown.
“It was a really good experience. The game was amazing. The atmosphere was great. The fans, they were great. So it was all around a great visit for me.”
Stuckey made sure to connect with Howard, who missed the majority of his sophomore season with an injury and has since transferred to Western High School in Fort Lauderdale.
“Before the game, Coach Stuckey came over to me and my parents and we were just chopping it up, catching back up after a year and some change since I had been up there,” Howard explained. “He was telling me that I looked great from breaking my leg and just the journey back onto the field.
“Coach Freeman and Coach Dre Brown basically all said the same thing. Coach Brown was asking me how the move was and was I liking my new school and all this other stuff. We were basically just chopping it up.”
Howard’s offer sheet also includes schools like Florida, Florida State, Georgia and LSU among many others. The Notre Dame coaches have made a tremendous impression on him to this point.
“I think they're really, really great people,” said Howard. “They don't come off as people you wouldn't want to be around or a team that you wouldn't want to commit to. They seem like good people who I can see myself playing for in the future.”
Howard was impressed with the Irish’s performance during their 48-20 win over USC.
“The game itself was great,” he said. “They really shut down Caleb Williams. He threw three picks. The defense looked really good. The offense capitalized off Caleb Williams' mistakes.”
Howard goes to Florida State this weekend and then will return to Tallahassee and possibly Clemson next month.
But he plans to keep in contact with Notre Dame and could make a third trip to South Bend.
“Probably in the spring or maybe in January, somewhere around there,” he said.
Howard plans to drop a list of top schools this spring, take officials in the summer and then have a decision before his senior season. The Irish are in solid position.
“Notre Dame is great. I'm pretty sure they'll be a top school and I'll just have to go from there when I take an official visit.”
