2018 O’Connor (Texas) defensive back Millard Bradford is a name to watch over the next few months as has had productive days at the Opening regionals. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder recorded a Nike Football Rating of 116.16, which included a 4.58 40-yard dash, and a 43.2 inch vertical.
Notre Dame has been aware of the three-star prospect and defensive coordinator Mike Elko recently reached out to the Texas native.
“I had spoken with the defensive coordinator, and he asked about my background,” Bradford told Irish Sports Daily. “He asked where I came from and wanted to know about me.
“He also told me about himself and took the time to get to know me. He asked me about school and my grades too. I appreciated him reaching out to me.”
Bradford knows a little about Notre Dame and hopes an offer comes from the Irish in due time.
“I know the school is a great academic school,” stated Bradford. “I know they have a good football program too. I hope to get the opportunity to go there.”
When it comes to his game, Bradford takes a lot of pride on the physical side, but he also takes pride in his coverage skills.
“I like contact,” explained Bradford. “I really like contact. I feel I can tackle well and I can cover one-on-one.”
TCU extended Bradford an offer in February, and it was a surreal moment as it was his first of hopefully many over the next few months.
“It’s a dream and something I’ve wanted to do since I was young,” said Bradford. “I am thankful I have the chance to live out my dream. I workout every day for it.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. I didn’t expect it to happen at all. I had to pinch myself a couple of times to make sure it was really happening.”
Bradford has visited TCU, and most recently this weekend he was in Baton Rouge to visit LSU. Both programs impressed the O’Connor star as he noticed differences between them.
“TCU was nice,” stated Bradford. “It was a nice school. The coaching staff was related well with me too.
“I visited LSU this past weekend. The vibe at LSU was different than TCU. It was more intense. You could just feel the differences in the two schools.”
As his recruiting process starts up, Bradford already knows what he is looking for in a future school.
“I want to make sure I graduate college,” Bradford said. “I want to know the school will give me the help I need to graduate.
“Football wise, I want to go to a place I can get better and improve my game each day. I want to try to go to the NFL Draft if I can. I want the coaches to coach me up so hopefully, I get that chance.”
