2026 WR Jordan Clay Enjoys Notre Dame Return
Jordan Clay has spent a decent amount of time in South Bend this year and that’s likely to be the case moving forward.
“I just like being up here,” the 2026 Texas receiver told Irish Sports Daily. “I have family up here, so anytime I get the chance to be up here, I take the opportunity.”
Clay had such an opportunity this past weekend and took advantage by returning to South Bend to see Notre Dame play Pittsburgh on Saturday.
“It was great,” he said. “Great hospitality from the coaches, the atmosphere was crazy. It was nothing I've ever seen before. The fans were crazy. They were very interactive with what was going on. It was really nice.”
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has early offers from schools like Baylor, Texas Tech and Houston. He camped in South Bend over the summer and was eager to return for a game.
Clay, who has family about 10 minutes from campus, had the chance to speak with head coach Marcus Freeman, receivers coach Chansi Stuckey and Director of High School Recruiting Dre Brown.
“They said, I'm so young that I've got a long road ahead of me and to keep doing what I'm doing and don't let up,” Clay recalled.
The staff in South Bend is a big reason why he’s so interested in the Irish.
“They're great,” he said. “They can be coaches when they've got to be coaches, and then they can be your friend when they've got to be your friend.”
The Madison High School standout has already visited Baylor this year and has plans to get to Texas Tech and possibly Houston.
He certainly intends on remaining in touch with the Irish.
“Just building from here to keep strong communication with the coaches and get up here as much as I can.”
