Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden spoke following Tuesday's practice as the Fighting Irish prepare for Clemson. 

On Marcus Freeman saying Mike Mickens was ready to be a defensive coordinator:
“Doing a great job. The big thing in coaching is to take the next step, like you have to master your position group, and he's doing that. He's committed to those kids. I mean, he's working all the time on their development.
