2026 RB Kory Amachree Enjoys Notre Dame Return
After performing at Irish Invasion over the summer, 2026 Michigan running back Kory Amachree was back in South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against Pittsburgh.
“It was a great visit,” the Haslett High School standout told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I loved it up there.
“I got to see the team. I got to see the facilities. I got to meet the coaches and had a great dinner up there and just got to watch the great game they played against Pitt.”
Amachree has early offers from schools like Arizona State, Louisville, Navy, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, UMass and others.
“It feels great,” he said of the early offers. “I feel blessed. Definitely blessed, but it's still early, obviously, so I've got to keep working.
“At the end of the day, you can only go to one place, so the amount of offers doesn't really matter. You've just got to stay focused, keep grinding.”
He was impressed with the Irish’s 58-7 win over the Panthers.
“They dominated,” the 6-foot, 195-pounder said. “They played great. I loved the energy up there and I loved the energy from the team.”
While in town, he was able to speak with head coach Marcus Freeman, running backs coach Deland McCullough and Director of High School Recruiting Dre Brown.
“They were just talking about the game, obviously, and about how my recruitment's going,” Amachree said of the Irish coaches. “They're going to stay in contact with me, so hopefully I can stay in touch with them.
He’s already visited Louisville this fall and has plans to hit Michigan, Purdue and Kentucky soon. He also expects to return to South Bend in the future.
“I'm definitely going to get back up to Notre Dame,” he said. “I love their facilities and love their team in general.
“Notre Dame is great. It's great. I love their facilities. They're a great team. I love the coaches up there especially, and they just have a really great program in general.”
