2018 Mississippi WR Hopes To Hear More From ND
CJ Bolar has received preliminary interest from Notre Dame so far and the 2018 Mississippi wide receiver is hoping to hear more.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder from Purvis, Miss., has more than a dozen offers from schools like Tennessee, Mississippi State, Louisville and Memphis among others.
“It’s a blessing,” Bolar said of the offers. “It’s just really a blessing.”
College scouts like the flexibility the Purvis High School standout brings to the position.
“They say they like my breakout speed and how versatile I am,” said Bolar, who has been clocked at 4.53 in the 40-yard dash.
“They can use me in different ways; the screen game, the deep balls, stuff like that.”
Most of the communication from the Irish has been via mail, but it’s stepped up a bit recently.
“I came in contact with the receivers coach a little while ago,” Bolar said. “He was asking me about my grades and stuff.”
Notre Dame is a school Bolar is seriously interested in and said an offer would “automatically” put the Irish inside his top five.
“I know they have a tradition of winning and that they’re serious about it too,” he said.
He’s hoping to visit South Bend at some point, but said it would have to be on an official visit during the fall.
He’s already made a trio of unofficial visits.
“I visited Florida State, Mississippi State and La. Tech,” he said. “They were pretty cool. I didn’t really know much about those schools until I actually got there.”
He doesn’t have a timeline for a decision, but does know a pair of factors will be key to what that decision ends up being.
“Relationships with coaches and being able to have a chance to compete for a spot early.”
