When he was invited to a game at Notre Dame, Michael Johnson‍ knew it was a place he wanted to see.

“It is my family school, so I just want to see how it was and how the atmosphere would be,” said the 2026 Georgia quarterback, who has multiple family members who are fans of the Irish.

The 6-foot, 165-pounder made the trip to South Bend to see the Irish play Pittsburgh.

“It was good,” the Dutchtown High School standout said. “I got to see a lot of crazy fans and some good football.

“I was mainly paying attention to the offense. The defense was cool and all, but I just liked the offense and how fast-paced it was.”

Johnson could see himself in that offensive scheme.

“I think I could play in that system,” he said.

Johnson has early offers from Central Florida, South Florida, UAB and Georgia Southern.

“I feel good about it,” he said of the early offers. “It just brings a lot of confidence.”

College coaches like how quick Johnson is and how quick he makes decisions along with his leadership qualities.

Johnson has already taken visits to Central Florida, South Florida, UAB, Pittsburgh and Arkansas this fall. He expects to make return visits to UCF and USF before the year is out.

He’d also like to return to South Bend.

“I want to come back more times to visit,” said Johnson.
