I hate that Notre Dame’s defense has to play close to perfect to beat a team like Clemson.

That’s not how it should work. That’s not close to complimentary football. It is what it is, though. That’s the state of things when Notre Dame’s offense goes up against a good defense on the other side.

To be clear, this wasn’t close to the best we’ve seen from Al Golden’s group this fall.
