Brian Kelly knew there would be some rust as Notre Dame put the pads on for the first time since November on Wednesday morning. However, the head coach was pleased with what he saw in Notre Dame’s first practice since returning from Spring Break.

“Guys were off for a week, but they came back in great shape,” stated Kelly. “We had a conditioning test on Sunday, and I was really pleased with their attentiveness on break and the way they came back.

“We hit the ground running.
