Report | Notre Dame Expected to Hire Mike Brown as Next Wide Receivers Coach
Marcus Freeman has dialed in on the next receivers coach at Notre Dame as Mike Brown is expected to make the move from Wisconsin to South Bend per ISD multiple sources.

It’s a familiar name for the Notre Dame head coach as the two worked together at Cincinnati during the 2019 and 2020 seasons where Brown worked as the receivers coach and Freeman was the defensive coordinator.
The Liberty alum helped lead Cincinnati to the College Football Playoff in 2021 while helping the Bearcats offense break school records for touchdowns in a season and points scored. Brown led the development of two All-AAC second-team receivers in Alec Pierce (2021) and Michael Young Jr. (2020).
In 2021, Brown also earned the role of passing game coordinator when Gino Guidugli was promoted to offensive coordinator.
Brown left the Bearcats program last year when Luke Fickell was hired by Wisconsin and served as the associate head coach while also coaching the Badgers receiving corps.
At Liberty, Brown was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010 and was a Big South All-Conference selection in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2009, Brown finished the season with 60 receptions for 698 yards and two touchdowns. Brown then moved to quarterback where he was named an FCS All-American in 2010 after he tallied a program-record 3,810 yards of total offense and 32 touchdowns.
Brown also played three seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars where he totaled 39 receptions for 534 yards and two touchdowns.
