Notre Dame LB Nolan Ziegler Enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Notre Dame sophomore linebacker Nolan Ziegler entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Saturday as an undergrad transfer.
The 6-foot-3, 234-pounder played in four games with the Fighting Irish after a decorated career at Catholic Central (Mich.).
Ziegler missed the first seven games of the 2023 season as he worked back from mental health issues, which included depression and TMS treatment.
The Michigan native wrote a statement on November 23rd and explained some of his recent battles away from the field.
The last appearance Ziegler made for the Irish in 2023 was the road trip to Clemson. Following the game, Ziegler was not part of the program as he did not practice, travel or dress for the final four games of the 2023 season, including the Sun Bowl.
Ziegler will finish his career with Notre Dame with one tackle and a key block on Jadarian Price’s 99-yard kickoff return against USC in October.
Out of high school, Ziegler held offers from Boston College, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Toledo and Western Michigan.
