Notre Dame has added another piece to its receiver room as Marshall graduate transfer Jayden Harrison has committed to the Fighting Irish following an official visit over the weekend.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder was named a Walter Camp First-Team All-American as a kick returner in 2023 after returning 23 kickoffs for 705 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison is the first Marshall player to be named a Walter Camp All-American since Randy Moss in 1997.

Harrison was also named a CBS Sports First-Team All-American and a finalist for the 2023 Jet Award, which goes to the nation’s top return specialist.

In addition to his kick return skills, Harrison also recorded 28 receptions for 410 yards and one score last season.

The Antioch (Tenn.) native played his high school ball at Pearl-Cohn where he made 120 career receptions for 1,864 yards and 24 touchdowns. Harrison signed with Vanderbilt as part of the 2019 class and recorded eight catches for 20 yards in two seasons.

Harrison transferred to Marshall in 2021 and made an immediate impact with 23 catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns while also tallying 378 kick return yards and one touchdown.

For his career, Harrison has made 71 receptions for 779 yards and four touchdowns.

The speedster will be the third receiver to transfer into Notre Dame this offseason. Harrison will be joined by Beaux Collins (Clemson) and Kris Mitchell (FIU) in the portal haul as Notre Dame looks to add depth and experience to the room.

Between the three transfers, Notre Dame has added 262 receptions, 3,732 yards and 27 touchdowns to Mike Brown’s receiver room, which is a far cry from starting three true freshmen and converted running back during the 2023 campaign. And to take it a step further, the three transfer receivers have combined for 4,027 career snaps.

It was a quick recruitment for Harrison after entering the Transfer Portal on January 4the and visiting South Bend and Colorado. He’s also from the same training and 7-on-7 program, Elite 3, as Notre Dame quarterback Kenny Minchey and several other Irish targets through the years.
