2026 Ohio TE Sam Hamilton One To Watch
It’s still early for Sam Hamilton, but not too early for the 2026 Ohio tight end to have an SEC offer.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound standout from perennial power Moeller High School landed an offer from Kentucky after camping with the Wildcats last summer.
“It's a great start,” Hamilton told Irish Sports Daily. “It was my very first camp as a high-schooler and meeting coaches and showing interest. That was a really good step for me.”
Hamilton has also heard from schools like Wisconsin, Duke, Cincinnati and Notre Dame. He’s been to South Bend once already.
“I went to a camp this past summer,” he explained. “The other (Moeller) tight end, Cooper McCutchan, him and I got to tour after the camp around the whole campus, so it was really cool.”
Hamilton is a fan of Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.
“I really like Coach Freeman,” he said. “I know him from Cincinnati when he was with (Luke) Fickell.
“Also, their tight end legacy. That's also a really big thing. They've sent a lot of tight ends to The League.”
Hamilton says he’ll be back at Notre Dame for another camp this summer and is hoping for another campus tour.
He’s also planning stops at Kentucky, Duke, Cincinnati, Wisconsin and possibly West Virginia and Florida.
Again, it’s early, but Hamilton has a good idea of what he’ll be looking for when he’s touring these colleges.
“First of all, I want to look at if it has a really good family atmosphere. How the players and coaches get along, if it's a good school and how they use their tight ends in their offense and just really where I fit in best.”
