Elite 2025 CB Dallas Golden Feels The Love At Notre Dame

Dallas Golden‍ enjoyed Saturday’s trip to Notre Dame right from the start.

“I loved it,” the elite 2025 Florida defensive back told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I loved it.

“As soon as I stepped foot on campus, it just felt like a family. The bonds, when I stepped on campus, from commits to the coaches, it felt organic and nobody was left out. Everybody was having fun. They had a couple activities for some bonding, so that was pretty cool.”

The Berkeley Prep star, who visited South Bend twice in 2023, spent time with Irish cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens.

“We just went over some of the defenses,” Golden explained. “We talked more football.

“They'll be using me as a corner, but I would be very versatile. I could play multiple positions in the secondary. I'm good with that. I feel like I actually am versatile. I feel can do a lot more playing different positions.”

Mickens has made a strong impression on Golden for over a year now.

“I love him,” said Golden. “I love Coach. He's just a great person, treats me well. As soon as he offered me as a freshman, I just knew he was a great person.”

Golden also appreciated the opportunity to speak with Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.

“It was cool,” said Golden. “He talked to me about the connections at Notre Dame and the football life at Notre Dame. It was pretty cool to talk to him.”

Notre Dame Director of Recruiting Chad Bowden has also formed a tremendously strong relationship with Golden.

“Chad, that's my guy for real,” said Golden. “I love him also.”

While in South Bend, Golden said he spent time with each of the Irish commits who were in attendance.

“They're real cool,” he said. “Like I said earlier, they treated me like a family. I didn't feel left out. I felt like I knew them for a while.”

He even enjoyed getting a taste of winter in South Bend.

“That was crazy,” he said. “That was the first hockey game I've ever experienced. I didn't know what to expect. But from what I saw, it looked pretty good, pretty cool.

“It was my first time seeing the snow also. It was pretty cool to see snow. It wasn't too bad. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.”

Next up for Golden, is a trip to Clemson for the Tigers’ Junior Day next week. Beyond that, he isn’t sure, although he’s certain he’ll be back in South Bend eventually.

“I'm definitely loving Notre Dame. I'm definitely going to get back up there for another game during the fall.”
