Daniel Anderson‍ returned to South Bend last weekend and the 2025 Notre Dame running back commit enjoyed himself again.

“It went really great,” the Arkansas native said. “It was very nice.

“We got to do a lot. We got to learn a lot more about Coach (Marcus) Freeman and the way he runs his stuff and we learned a lot more about academics this time instead of just about football. Then we got to play some games. We got to play dodge and Irish Ball and connect with some of the other recruits. It was really fun. I had a great time. The hockey game at the end was different because I've never been to one.”

The Bryant High School standout has enjoyed getting an understanding of Freeman as a person and coach over the past several months.

“I keep continuously learning that he's really about family and connecting with his players and that he's not just about football,” Anderson said. “He wants us to explore our availability of what we can do after football. That's something I really think is important. I'm glad that he's very into that.”

Anderson also enjoyed hanging out with his future teammates and fellow 2025 Irish commits.

“I got to spend a lot of time with a lot of new people,” he said. “I got to spend time with Deuce (Knight) and Justin (Thurman). I got to meet a couple of new people that I'd remembered seeing, but didn't really get to connect with them last time.

Anderson and the other commits also made sure to get in the ears of some of the uncommitted targets in town.

“I tell them that they'll have a solid future if this is where they want to go and when they do go here,” Anderson explained. “It expands everything for them that they could have after football. It just really solidifies what they can do with their lives.”

Anderson expects to be back in South Bend sometime in June for another visit.
