2025 DE Javeon Campbell Talks Notre Dame Offer, Upcoming Visit
Javeon Campbell’s initial reaction to learning he had landed a scholarship offer was almost tangible.
“It felt like my heart dropped,” the 2025 Kentucky defensive end told Irish Sports Daily. “It was just crazy.
“It's just a big school. I've heard it has a great campus, great program.”
Campbell landed the offer on Thursday, when the Irish dropped by Western Hills High School to check on him.
“They said that I have a motor when I'm out on the field and in the weight room, they can see it on my basketball film,” he said. “They just see how I just get at it.”
While his initial reaction was “almost tangible,” he is following up with concrete plans to show just how interested he is.
Campbell told ISD he’ll be taking a visit to South Bend on Tuesday.
“Just meeting all the coaches, seeing the football stadium, seeing how they do things over there, the campus, all of that,” he said of what he’s hoping to see during the trip.
He visited Vanderbilt on Saturday and plans to get to Michigan State this coming weekend. Later this spring, he’s looking at potential trips to Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Campbell’s offer sheet also includes Purdue, West Virginia, Minnesota and Cincinnati among others.
“I just want to pick the school that I have the best connection with, and then where I fit in and then what they have to offer me academically,” he said.
Campbell is planning to major in Engineering.
He isn’t in a major rush to make a final decision.
“Probably sometime next year when I have everything situated,” he said.
“After I'm done with football season, just spend my time to figure out what's the best fit for me.”
