Notre Dame Staying After 2025 LB Noah Mikhail
Noah Mikhail hoped to return to South Bend back in the fall, but transportation issues forced him to cancel.
No worries, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman still made sure to drop by Bonita High School while he was on the road last month to visit with the 2025 California linebacker.
“It means a lot having the head coach come all the way from South Bend,” the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder says.
“It's a big deal for me, having him travel down. He didn't see a lot of kids while he was down here, so he was obviously showing that I'm a priority to them and that means a lot.”
Mikhail, who has already visited South Bend multiple times, appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with Freeman.
“It was kind of just talking a little bit, catching up,” he says. “It's been a while since we had been in contact in person, so kind of just catching up.”
Mikhail plans on returning to South Bend in the coming months.
“I'm going to be getting back up there this spring sometime,” he says. “We’re still finalizing dates.”
In addition to Freeman, Mikhail has been in consistent contact with defensive coordinator Al Golden and linebacker assistant Max Bullough.
“I'm looking forward to getting to sit down with Coach Bullough and Coach Golden and seeing what the plan is and going into depth on that,” he says.
Mikhail has a lengthy list of scholarship offers that includes schools like USC, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia and Alabama. Still, the Irish have always had his attention.
“Notre Dame is one of those programs that has a great coaching staff,” he says. “Obviously, I’m a priority for them. There is stability there. I just want to learn that system and learn the plan for me, that's a big part of it.“
Mikhail plans on being busy hitting the road when the dead period is lifted next month, but isn’t naming any favorites just yet.
“I'm just keeping it open now. Sometime this summer after I take my officials, I'll be committing.”
