2025 WR Phillip Wright III Getting Major Attention
Phillip Wright has already racked up over a dozen offers.
“It feels good because growing up, I saw my cousins and people I look up to getting those offers,” the 2025 Louisiana receiver says. “Now I'm getting them, so it makes me feel like I accomplished a lot. But the mission's not finished, so I've got to keep going, keep grinding.”
Wright, whose family includes current Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson, currently has offers from schools like LSU, Miami, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Baylor among others.
Notre Dame has shown some interest and made it to Destrehan High School last month to check in on him.
“I talked to Notre Dame early on,” the 6-foot, 175-pounder says. “ I was supposed to come to a camp, but I didn't go.
“I'm interested in Notre Dame. My teammate, Anthony Robinson, he told me a lot about Notre Dame, so that made me a little interested. Anthony told me that's a good program. He loved the coaches and everything they were talking about.”
Wright says he’d welcome the chance to visit South Bend.
“I would want to see basically their environment, because that's a different place,” he says. “Also, what they offer as far as schooling and things like that.”
Wright, who took home Fastest Man Honors at the National Underclassmen Combine in San Antonio last month, was at LSU’s Junior Day and has a few other schools in mind for future visits.
“I want to go to Texas,” he says. “I want to go to Michigan. Notre Dame for sure. Those are the main ones.”
LSU certainly has his attention.,
“It's in-state,” he says. “It's everyone's dream, especially from Louisiana to go to LSU. I've been there a couple times due to my cousin, so I would like to visit there.”
It’s early, but Wright has an idea of what is going to matter most to him when it comes time to choose a school.
”One important thing is that my mom likes it. I can't move without knowing what she thinks is best for me. Like I said before, the schooling with the coaches; not just talking over the phone, but real stuff.”
