Javeon Campbell‍ wasn’t going to wait around to go see Notre Dame.

A week after landing a scholarship offer from the Irish, the 2025 Kentucky defensive end made his way out to South Bend.

“It went amazing,” said Campbell, who made the trip to Notre Dame on Thursday. “I got to see the campus and all that.

“I got to see campus, I got to see the locker rooms, the inside of the field house. I got to see the Grotto with the candles, the spiritual part of the school.”

The Western Hills High School standout left with a strong impression of Notre Dame.

“The culture of the school and just the setting, the vibe, everything,” he said.

While on campus, he had the chance to visit with Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington.

“He was a part of the tour and all that,” Campbell said of Washington. “He was just giving me a rundown about everything; what Notre Dame had to offer me, the education and athletically. That's really about it.

“He's a great guy. Talking about football and not talking about football, he's just a great, great guy.”

Campbell, who visited Vanderbilt before Notre Dame and Michigan State after, isn’t sure what’s next for him and the Irish.

“I have no clue,” he said. “I might go up to go watch some practice or even some games.”

Campbell doesn’t have any other visits set at this point.
