Al Golden is returning for his third season as coordinator after the Irish finished seventh in DF+ (combined FEI and SP+ rankings). That was their highest ranked finish in DF+ since 2012. They have the potential to be as good or better in 2024 with the best defensive tackle duo in the country and two All-American caliber talents returning in the secondary as their foundation.
