2026 DL Gabriel Hill Planning Notre Dame Stop
2026 Naperville North (Ill.) defensive lineman Gabriel Hill is fresh off an impressive sophomore campaign, which led to Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State and Kent State offering following the season.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder isn’t satisfied as Hill is locked into his offseason work.
“Just building speed and size to better get off the ball on pass rush and take on a double teams for this season,” Hill told ISD of where he’s growing his game.
Notre Dame is a school that has been in contact with the Illinois native in recent weeks. Hill is still in the process of learning about the school, but he’s also aware of Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame’s rich tradition.
“The head coach and his background,” Hill said when asked about what he knew about Notre Dame. “The high expectations of Notre Dame’s performance of players on and off the field.”
Hill is a prime candidate to receive an offer from Notre Dame as Pot of Gold Day is around the corner and he’s expected to be in South Bend sooner than later.
“I want to build connections with coaches and see the facilities,” explained HIll. “Also, the extra stuff the program provides for the players on and off the field to get results.”
The early recruiting attention has been positive to this point. Hill has allowed himself to embrace the process as it’s taken away some stress of getting the attention of programs.
It’s also motivated him as Hill knows he can’t stop working.
“The offers are a great step in recruiting,” said Hill. “It helps take the pressure off for next year about colleges. However, I still have standards I have to meet for not only schools but myself and my team. It also shows people see me and my work and it’s time to step it up.”
