Booker, Takacs, Sophomore Day Previews, Elko Connections & Much More
As always, Fridays here at Irish Sports Daily mean ISD Intel, our weekly peek behind the scenes of Notre Dame Football and Irish recruiting efforts.
It’s another busy recruiting weekend in South Bend.
The Irish will hold their first-ever Sophomore Day on Sunday and we have updates on several of the 2019 prospects who will be in town - and one update on a prospect who is a scratch at least for now. We also take a look at the challenges that come with identifying and recruiting targets so far out.
But even before that, Notre Dame will be hosting a pair of top 2018 targets.
Find out what Maryland DE/LB Thomas Booker thinks of former Gilman and Notre Dame products Ambrose Wooden and Victor Abiamiri. It’s no surprise Florida TE George Takacs scheduled a trip to South Bend not long after receiving an offer, but find out why it’s telling he’s squeezing in a visit this weekend.
2018 Ohio LB Brian Asamoah pumped the brakes on his recruitment with new offers to examine. Asamoah has an interesting connection to Notre Dame defensive coordinator Mike Elko that could pay huge dividends for the Irish.
Get all of that and much, much more in this week’s ISD Intel.
