2026 CB Elbert Hill IV Talks Notre Dame Return
After landing a scholarship offer from the Irish following a camp last summer, Elbert Hill IV was back at Notre Dame this weekend for another visit.
“It went great,” the 2026 Ohio cornerback told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I got to see the campus. I got to see the guys go at it at practice and I got to talk to the coaches, and that was really much it.”
The Archbishop Hoban High School standout had done much of the tour before, but was struck by the Grotto.
“That was probably the newest thing I saw on the campus tour,” he said.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder also enjoyed taking in the Irish’s practice on Saturday morning.
“It was very good, very intense, players competing and getting after it,” he said.
Hill had a chance to reconnect with head coach Marcus Freeman.
“He was telling me how I'm an amazing player and that he loved my game and that when I'm choosing into college to make sure to see what they have for me after football,” said Hill. “It's not just football.
“He's a great guy. He knows what he's talking about. He likes to build a lot of relationships and trust.”
Irish cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens also got some time with Hill.
“Coach Mickens was showing me everything that their DBs do,” said Hill. “He was telling me how they prepare for games and recovery. He's pretty much trying to just build a relationship with me and he was telling me about life after football and things like that.”
Hill looks forward to continuing to build relationships with the staff in South Bend.
He plans on getting back to Notre Dame, but isn’t sure when yet.
He goes to Penn State and Wisconsin next, but that’ll likely be it for visits until the summer.
Hill’s offer sheet also includes schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Oregon among several others.
It’s early, but Notre Dame does have his attention.
“It's a pretty good school. They're definitely considered a top one for me. I will very much look into them guys a lot and see how it really is.”
