2025 WR Brandon Finney Talks Notre Dame Visit, What's Next

Brandon Finney‍ was fired up when he received an offer from Notre Dame last month, which is why the 2025 Maryland receiver scheduled a trip to South Bend for Monday.

“It was great,” Finney told Irish Sports Daily after the trip, noting how familiar Notre Dame felt to McDonogh School, the private school in Owings Mills that he current attends.

“Just the environment and the culture.”

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder arrived in town on Sunday before Monday’s visit.

“So, I was able to just be in the city of South Bend,” he said. “I got to go around the city. I obviously got to get a look at campus. I toured the whole campus. The next day, we went to practice. I talked to the coaches; Coach Mike Brown, the receivers coach. Then, I talked to Coach (Marcus) Freeman.”

Finney enjoyed his conversation with Brown.

“It was good,” he said. “He was showing me how he coaches. I definitely did like it.”

Finney also appreciated his chat with Freeman.

“It was kind of just getting to know him,” said Finney. “He obviously told me that they wanted me. It was a good little talk with him.

“It definitely makes me feel like a priority to them, so that's good.”

Finney was also able to speak with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.

“He's great,” said Finney. “I loved his offense from what I saw. I also met with him too. He was showing me how he'd use my skills.”

Denbrock was showing Finney film of the receivers who put up gaudy numbers under him at LSU last season.

Finney’s offer sheet also includes schools like Georgia, Penn State, Maryland, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Oregon among others. 

He heads to Georgia for an unofficial this weekend and then to Oregon at the end of April. 

Finney plans to be back in South Bend at some point.

“I'm definitely going to try to get back up there,” he said. “I'm not sure when.

“The thing is the official dates that they have, I've already have other OVs planned. I don't know, we'll figure it out.”

Finney currently has official visits set with Penn State, Oregon and South Carolina.
