2025 LB Noah Mikhail Talks Latest Notre Dame Stop
Noah Mikhail made multiple trips to Notre Dame last year and the 2025 California linebacker was back in town on Wednesday for another.
“It went good,” the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was a good visit; really getting to sit down, watch practice, and do some other things as well.
“I had been up there last year and watched practice, but obviously seeing it again was big and really getting to see what they do and how I really will fit in and contribute to that. That was a big part of it too.”
The Irish essentially told the Bonita High School standout that he could pretty much play anywhere.
“It's really just the versatility and all three spots really that they play linebackers, they can see me playing right now,” Mikhail said of the message from the Irish.
“I like it. It's obviously big to get on the field, so being able to have the opportunity to learn three positions and three spots on the field gives you a better chance than knowing one.”
Mikhail got plenty of time with head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Al Golden and linebackers coach Max Bullough.
“There wasn't much of a sell on Notre Dame,” he said. “Everybody knows it's Notre Dame. They've got top academics, top everything.
“It was really more just catching up. We already know each other. I've been now and I've been able to sit in with them. So really just catching up and just talking about life, talking about things, how we're doing and how everything's been.”
Mikhail also had the chance to speak with a couple current freshmen on Notre Dame’s roster.
“I was boys with CJ Carr,” Mikhail said. “We played on California Power (7-on-7) together. I also got to talk to Kyngstonn (Viliamu-Asa) a little bit, just see how he's been doing and how his journey has been.”
Mikhail hadn’t known Viliamu-Asa personally before Wednesday, but came away feeling he would “definitely” fit in with the players in South Bend.
“It's been high praise by both freshmen who I talked to,” he said. “They're really enjoying their time there. Obviously, there are hard times, but they've been enjoying it a lot.”
Mikhail has visits to Stanford and USC coming up next and from there, he’ll take the next step.
“I'm going to finish out all these spring visits and then that's when I'm going to start publishing some officials.”
In addition to Notre Dame, Mikhail’s offer sheet includes schools like Stanford, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Georgia among several others.
