WHAT TO WATCH
Notre Dame has given No. 2 Clemson all it wanted this weekend, but the Tigers have made just enough plays late into the first two games to win. Freshman midseason All-American Jack Radel suffered the first loss of his career on Saturday, but he pitched extremely well once again. Radel is quickly becoming a key piece for the future as he appears destined for great things.
Sophomore Caden Spivey also gave Notre Dame four solid innings of work giving up four hits and one run. Outside of one game, Spivey has been pretty consistent this season.
Notre Dame couldn’t quite get enough juice at the plate to get runs home. The Irish actually batted better than Clemson at .257 for the game, but were just 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and 0-for-1 with the bases loaded.
Clemson will throw freshman Aidan Knaak today and he leads the team with 48 strikeouts. Notre Dame has had enough traffic on the bases to win both games, but they need to find a way to get clutch hits if they want to avoid a fourth ACC sweep.
