2026 DE Rodney Dunham Excited To Have Offer, Ready To See Notre Dame
Rodney Dunham was fired up to land a scholarship offer from Notre Dame during the Irish’s Pot of Gold Day push last month.
“It means a lot knowing the history of the school at Notre Dame; the education that they offer, the football program that they have and everything,” the 2026 North Carolina edge defender said.
Dunham had been in contact with multiple staff members, including Dre Brown, Marcus Freeman, Al Golden, Al Washington and Nick Sebastian leading up to the offer.
“They're nice,” Dunham said. “They're really cool. I can tell that they want me up there and they want to see me and everything.
“They've recruited me really well, probably the best out of all the schools. It's cool. I like it, I like them. I just want to hear about their scheme and how they run the defense and see how I like it up there. They just check up on me, call me and everything a lot more than all other coaches do. They ask me about my family and everything and want to know more about me.”
The Irish will host the Myers Park High School standout for a visit on April 13th.
“I'm going to meet the coaches in person, let them meet my family and tour the school ,facility and all that,” he said.
Dunham’s offer sheet also includes Duke, Florida State and South Carolina among others.
It’s been a busy month for Dunham, who visited Florida State last Thursday and Duke on Saturday.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is also a standout baseball player who plans to play both sports in college, something Notre Dame has given an early stamp of approval.
Dunham has an early list of what will be most important to him.
“The location, the education and the people around the area, the fans, and what my parents think about the school.”
