Kaydon Finley‍ made his way up to Notre Dame for a visit on Tuesday and the 2026 Texas receiver liked it enough that he expects to return.

“It went well,” the Aledo High School standout told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It went really well. I liked it a lot.”

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder enjoyed speaking with Irish offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.

“He was really just telling me how I would fit into the offense at Notre Dame and how his offensive scheme fits me well and me as a player,” Finley said of Denbrock. “He thinks I can be a big threat on the deep balls. He likes to throw the ball a lot. They pass the ball 69 percent of the time, so he thinks I can fit well to that system.

“I love it. I love the OC.”

Finley was also impressed with Notre Dame receivers coach Mike Brown.

“I liked him a lot,” said Finley. “I loved how he talked to his players and how he teaches them.”

The message from head coach Marcus Freeman was a relatively simple one.

“Really just how I'm a good player, how they would love to get me down there and how I need to get up there for an in-season game,” Finley explained.

Finley, who has offers from schools like Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Baylor, Arkansas, Oregon and Penn State among others, said he will be back, but isn’t sure when.

“I'm going to look at the schedule and see when I can get up there,” said Finley, who was also impressed with the Notre Dame campus.

“The next step is really just getting back up there and building relationships with coaches.”

He’s scheduled to visit Michigan on Friday, but it seems like Notre Dame has already secured a spot on the table until the end.

“It's definitely going to be in the final decision. We'll see how it plays out.”
