On the surface, Notre Dame appears to check a lot of the boxes that Brock Harris‍ is looking for, which would explain why the 2026 Utah tight end was so excited to receive an offer during the Irish’s St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold blitz.

“It means a lot,” Harris told Irish Sports Daily of the offer. “They always produce tight ends, so getting that offer means a lot; to be considered to go to that school, which is named Tight End U by a lot of people.

The Pine View High School standout has been keeping in close contact with Notre Dame GM Chad Bowden and Director of Recruiting Dre Brown.

“We've just been talking on the phone,” Harris said. “They’ve just been seeing how I'm doing, just reaching out, showing that he cares.

“They're all really cool. While I've been on the phone with Coach Brown, he's gotten me on the phone with other coaches. I think they're all really into it and they think they're building something great there. It's just exciting to see that energy coming from them.”

Harris has a lengthy offer sheet that also includes schools like Utah, BYU, USC, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, LSU and Georgia among several others.

He’s hoping to visit South Bend soon.

“I know a few people who have gone there and everybody says it's great and the culture and everything is just awesome,” he said. “So I definitely want to go and see it for myself.

“I want to just see the area around it, but mainly the coaches and how they run the offense.”

Harris visited Arizona and Arizona State when he was in the state for a 7-on-7 tournament and also made trips to Oregon, BYU and Washington. It’s early, but he does have a good idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“I always say that the most important thing for me is that the school uses the tight ends, that they are involved a lot in games. And, I like to see how the coaches coach and if their background is more of a lineman type of coach or if they're mainly tight ends. I always say that they use the tight ends, they pass to them and they're involved.”
