Adam Guthrie‍ is emerging as one of the top offensive linemen in the Midwest in the Class of 2026 and after conversations with Notre Dame offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, the Ohio native will spend Thursday in South Bend.

Despite contact limitations because he’s not yet a junior in high school, Rudolph has managed to get his point across.

“They're obviously showing a lot of interest so it's definitely a priority to get there,” the 6-foot-7, 285-pounder said. “Coach Rudolph definitely seems like a great coach. He's been producing top offensive linemen every year. He definitely seems like a down to earth type of guy too.

“As a kid from Ohio, you see Notre Dame-USC games and all that stuff, so with Notre Dame being a top program in the country, it's definitely one of the schools I want to check out.”

The Miami Trace High School standout is looking to get a better peek at the program and the University.

“Obviously the campus life and all the facilities and definitely meeting all the coaches,” he said of what he’d like to see.

Guthrie has been one of the hottest prospects this year, running his offer list up beyond two dozen, adding scholarships from schools like Oregon, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Penn State, Auburn, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and NC State among several others.

“It's hectic some days, but it's not terrible,” he said. “I mean I'm blessed to be in the position I am.”

He doesn’t have an offer from the Irish to this point, but would love to add them to that list.

“It would mean a lot,” said Guthrie. “It's obviously a top program every year, so it would be coming from them, it would mean a lot to me.”

He’s made several visits recently and has one more set in the immediate future.

“I have visited Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Miami and NC State,” he said. “I have West Virginia (April) 27th.”

It’s early, but Guthrie has an idea of what he’s looking for in a school.

“Definitely a place I could see myself at and see myself being part of that family for the next four or five years of my life.”
