WHAT TO WATCH
Notre Dame will enter this week on a five-game winning streak, which is a nice change of pace for the program. The more significant change is Notre Dame is now firmly back in the race to make the ACC Tournament, but there is still work to be done. The Irish are still in the bottom two of the ACC, but are just two games back of Boston College and Miami, which is notable as the Irish won series against both teams this year.
The bats are hot for Notre Dame, as the Irish boosted their team batting average to a more than respectable .285 on the year, which is No. 10 in the ACC. However, it’s worth noting that the ACC has seven teams batting over .300, which is a bit ridiculous.
Estevan Moreno has been on a tear over the last month. He’s now batting .321, leads the team in double (14) and is second in home runs with nine dingers.
Notre Dame’s pitching even moved up a couple spots in ERA to No. 12 as the Irish sit at 6.24.
Yes, the Irish did record wins over Valpo, Purdue Fort Wayne and Boston College last week, but for a team that was struggling in every aspect of the game, it was a big five-game stretch.
A win on Wednesday will have Notre Dame sky-high rolling into this weekend’s series with No. 8 Wake Forest.
