2026 RB DeZephen Walker Appreciates Notre Dame Offer
DeZephen Walker was fired up to land an offer from Notre Dame during the Irish’s Pot of Gold Day push on St. Patrick’s Day.
The 2026 Missouri running back added Notre Dame to a list that also includes schools like Georgia, Oregon, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Stanford and Nebraska among several others.
“It means a lot,” the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder said of the Irish offer. “ I know the school has a good history and I know they have winning records, so I'm very honored.”
He had some preliminary discussions with a couple Notre Dame coaches.
“I've talked to the running backs coach and I talked to the head coach briefly when he came to my school,” the Raymond-Peculiar High School standout said.
Deland McCullough showed some real interest when he met with Walker.
“He was very excited to see me,” Walker said of the Irish running backs coach. “He said he liked my film. We really have a good chemistry right now. He seems like a great coach.”
McCullough is scheduled to see Walker at school on Wednesday.
Walker is hoping to visit South Bend this year.
“Maybe during the season,” he said. “I don't have an official date, but during the season would be great.
“I want to see great coaches, culture, core values, and definitely the facilities and winning.”
Walker was at Tennessee earlier this month for a visit and expects to make a trip to Iowa too.
He has a trio of factors that will be most important to him when he’s choosing a school in the end.
“Great coaches, core values and a winning team. Those are my top three, really.”
