BREAKING | Notre Dame Lands Elite 2025 ATH Dallas Golden
Notre Dame just struck gold in its 2025 recruiting class in the form of Dallas Golden.
The elite Florida athlete, who has been a true top-of-the-board target for the Irish for over a year now, announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon.
The Berkeley Prep star gives the Irish 20 current commits in the Class of 2025.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder could play multiple positions, including safety and wide receiver, but is likely to give the Irish a major boost at cornerback.
He chose Notre Dame over offers from schools like Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Oregon and several others.
Irish head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Al Golden, defensive backs coach Mike Mickens and general manager Chad Bowden spearheaded the recruitment.
Freeman stressed the opportunities Notre Dame can provide beyond football. Golden was blown away by the treatment he received from Al Golden and called Mickens “a great person.”
As for Bowden, it was obvious the two formed an extremely strong connection from the start.
“Chad, that's my guy for real,” Golden said. “I love him.”
Golden made multiple trips to South Bend over the last year and was never shy about saying how much he felt at home at Notre Dame.
Following his most recent visit, he told Irish Sports Daily he “loved it.”
“As soon as I stepped foot on campus, it just felt like a family,” he said. “The bonds, when I stepped on campus, from commits to the coaches, it felt organic and nobody was left out. Everybody was having fun.”
Adding Golden adds some true firepower for the Irish class at a position of need. It also allows Notre Dame to focus on some other stars to close out the defensive backfield, especially cornerback Mark Zackery IV and safety JaDon Blair.
