2026 Safety Jireh Edwards Talks Notre Dame Offer, Coaches
Notre Dame said it was going to make recruiting St. Frances Academy a priority and the Irish have made good on that promise so far, offering several of the Maryland prep school’s prospects.
2026 safety Jireh Edwards is one such prospect.
“Just knowing I got an offer from Notre Dame, that means a lot,” the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder said.
The Irish reaffirmed an earlier offer last month.
“Just the family program they have and the name of Notre Dame and the Irish Pot of Gold, that means a lot,” he said.
Edwards has an impressive offer sheet and dropped a Top 10 that included Georgia, Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon and USC. While the Irish weren’t included, he said his recruitment remains open.
The junior defensive back has kept in contact with Notre Dame defensive coordinator Al Golden.
“He's just been saying how I'm a great fit in the Notre Dame program and just stuff like that and how he can see me at Notre Dame,” Edward said of Golden.
“He's a great person. He's everything a player would want in a coach.”
Edwards is hoping to get to South Bend soon so he can try to get a better feel for Notre Dame.
“How I can be a fit in the program and the family-orientated and stuff like that,” he said of what he’s hoping to see.
He hasn’t taken many visits this spring, but is hoping to hit the road in the coming months.
